18. One of the few American-made thimbles in the collection of the late Alta Thompson*, and RARELY FOUND. Made by WAITE THRESHER, of Providence, RI, and stamped with the OPEN STAR MARK they used 1892-1912. TWO PATTERNS ALTERNATE on the TALL PANELS. Inside the top, it is stamped with the size, "7", and "STERLING", surrounding the TRADE MARK. This has been used for sewing, but there are no holes, only out-of-roundness, and some scratches of age. Priced accordingly. Shown in AMERICAN SILVER THIMBLES, page 128, plate 46, left. PLEASE STUDY PICTURES FOR CONDITION. Save on shipping by buying several thimbles by email from me. Don't use the shopping cart when you do this. THANKS FOR LOOKING!!
