3. This BEAUTIFUL, GOLD-BANDED, STERLING SILVER, FEATHER-SCROLLS THIMBLE was KETCHAM and McDOUGALL's, catalog #112, c. 1880s. It has obviously been lovingly used over its many years. Stamped inside the top with the KMcD, trade mark and "STERLING", and on the cartouche, with the size, "9". Shown in AMERICAN SILVER THIMBLES, page 74, plate 51, center.
